Engineer, Sr Staff - Hardware Development

Job Description
    

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and validating cellular Baseband systems including the following:

• Development and testing of cellular BB reference designs

• BB system integration with RF

• Design and develop BB system integration tests

• Support applications engineering and customer designs

You will work closely with the BB IC design team as well as other design groups across a variety of products and technologies within the company

Job Requirements
    

BSEE and 6+ years of experience OR MSEE preferred and 3+ years of related experience.

• 3-6+ years of experience in BB systems design, integration and test for cellular communication systems.

• Strong understanding of wireless standards (GSM, GPRS, EGPRS and WCDMA) is essential

. Knowledge of HSDPA/HSUPA is a plus.

• Must have experience designing handsets for volume production.

• Must have hands-on experience with design, integration, test and debug of BB functions on cellular phone.

• Must have hands-on experience with GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA test systems and test methodology.

• Must be a self-starter and be able to work closely with functional groups throughout the company and at the customer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    * Customer support, bug fix and feature enhancement on customer project
    * Developing platform software features and performance improvements.
    * Troubleshooting and debugging related bug issues.
    * Code optimization and integration.
    * Some travel may be required.



The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

    * Requires a BS in CE/EE with 8+ years of related experience, or MS in CE/EE with 5 years of related experience to include at 4+ years of experience in the design and development of applications on handheld or electronic consumer products.
    * Linux/Android development/support experience is mandatory
    * Strong experience in C/C++ or Java programming.
    * Familiar with gcc tool chain and makefile rules.
    * Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    * Experience debugging with ARM debug tools such as JTAG/ETM.
    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    * Good teamwork spirit.
