Autoconf couldn’t find pkg.m4, which is provided by pkg-config. Make sure that pkg.m4 is available. For instance, if you installed Automake in /usr/local, it wouldn’t look for .m4 files in /usr/share. So you have to invoke the following command in that case

我用的是Ubuntu 20.4，pkg.m4属于pkg-config安装包。
pkg.m4是shell脚本，是用来在自动配置时调用pkg-config功能的。

你的方法可以试一下。如果还有问题，需要查一下在你用的发行版，pkg.m4是由哪个安装包提供的。
