内容是否合适是否够水平我不知道，但又一个因素可能是，你这个cover letter内容可能有点话大了。
具体论文内容我不了解，不知道你这个内容是奠基性的宗师级新模型，还是改进模型。
老外虽然崇尚自信，但学术圈其实比较崇尚客观、理性、严密、谨慎和保守。所以要慎言我创造了什么，颠覆了什么这类过于夸张的话，尤其是基于前人工作的variation这么说直接就完蛋了，一般编辑和审稿人看到言过其实的话都会逆反，你去审稿也会这样吧？
你的话虽然没到那么夸张，但是对前人大牛似乎有点踩踏的感觉。同样的事可以换个说法，客观地点出自己的新贡献，但不必那么高调。说自己的贡献和novelty的时候，必须强调前人工作为基础。
