书名:Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow
作者:Gabrielle Zevin

Children of Memory : Children of Time #3
Adrian Tchaikovsky

Corvid...

作者:Brené Brown

Goodreads
It is kind of hard to tell if this book is helpful to me. I opened it with the expectation of some popularized psychology but was somewhat daunted by a plethora of categorized emotion terms instead. Granted, the author claims that it is her very intention to help understand the exact definition and nuances, which is the first necessary step to tackle these emotions gracefully according to her. I cannot disagree with this approach, especially when it concurs with another favorite book of mine, "Word Power Made Easy", whose author also claims that one's vocabulary is positively correlated with his knowledge (and eventually with his income).
On a second thought, this is indeed a practical approach. Maybe I should have read it even slower. I was already aware and slowed down from time to time to think over those terms, but I could do better.
Among the confusions from the z-turn in our COVID policy, many of those emotions are viscerally relevant. At least this book helps in understanding those emotions, especially in section 1 and 6.

书名:The Christmas Pig
作者:J.K.Rowling
In Christmas Eve, a night for miracles, a boy sets on a mysterious journey with his "replacement" toy pig, venturing into the Land of the Lost, determined to find his favourite childhood huddler, lost in a series of tragical events.
On the enlightening trip, they encounter myriad lost Things, both substantial and insubstantial, dwelling in various settlements depending on emotional attachments. There are indifferent bystanders, hearty neighbours, helpful experts, as well as the formidable boss, the Loser, and its haunting minions.
If I were a kid, I would have rated it five stars. Barring a little want of depth for adults, it is still an interesting, lighthearted seasonal read.
Kind of a magic for me to read this book right after Atlas of the Heart and see many of the emotions elaborated in the latter anthropomorphized in the Land of the Lost, especially in the City of the Missed!
