According to the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act in Singapore, it is an offence for a foreigner to work in Singapore without a valid work pass. The penalties for this offence are as follows:

For the first conviction, the offender can be fined up to $20,000 and/or jailed up to 2 years.

For the second or subsequent conviction, the offender can be fined up to $30,000 and/or jailed up to 3 years. The offender may also be caned up to 6 strokes if the court orders it.
