自从IBM加入到Globus联盟(www.globus.org,网格的标准制定者和标准实现开发者)之后,OGSA的推出,GlobusToolkit3.0版的推出,网格的功能就被整合到基于WebServices的Grid Service外壳之中,Web Services和网格计算两大阵营出现了结合的趋向。
Grid Service与Web Service的区别在于Grid Service支持接口继承和服务状态,状态变化的异步通知机制,等等。
但是随着WSDL1.2、Web服务资源框架规范(WS Resource Framework,简称WSRF)和Web服务通知规范(WS Notification specifications,简称WSN)的即将推出,来自不同背景的两大团体似乎越走越近,
我不禁有些担心,在整个过程中,网格计算是否可能失去自我。
不过Ian Foster还是认为网格计算解决了Web服务没有触及或者没有解决好的问题“The essential requirement addressed by OGSI and WSRF the critical functionality missing from Web services from a Grid perspective is the ability to create, address, inspect, discover, and manage stateful resources.”--有状态的资源。
