Baros hoping to face Olympiakos
Liverpool striker Milan Baros is hoping to play a part in his side's crucial
Champions League Group A match against Olympiakos next week.
The Czech Republic forward suffered a hamstring injury while on international
duty against Macedonia last month but took part in light training on Monday
before stepping up his fitness further on Wednesday.
'It was almost like I was fully training. And the leg is okay,' Baros told
www.idnes.cz. 'On Friday I will train again with the team. I want to play in
the Champions League against Olympiakos on Wednesday.
'I had a little tear in the femoral muscle, it bled and later stiffened. This
stiffened blood caused problems with the muscle.
'In Macedonia the same happened to me again as had happened a few days before
in La Coruna. Only this was a bit worse.'
The 23-year-old admits he has been frustrated at having to watch from the
sidelines and is desperate to get back out on the pitch.
'I am fed up with it. I am looking forward to playing again. I would like to
help my team, we need to beat Olympiakos to stay in the Champions League.
'The muscle is okay, I do not feel any problems. If I had even a little
doubt, I would not be eager to play.'
