Deserved medal for Mourinho

José Mourinho's achievement in leading FC Porto to successive victories in
the UEFA Cup and UEFA Champions League will be recognised by an award from
the Portuguese government at a ceremony in Lisbon on Wednesday.

Sporting merit
Mourinho will receive a national medal for sporting merit (Colar de Honra ao M
érito Desportivo) at the official residence of the Portuguese prime
minister, Pedro Santana Lopes, who it is believed will present the award. The
42-year-old coach, now in charge at Chelsea FC, guided his Porto team to
victory against Celtic FC in the UEFA Cup final of 2002/03, before they made
it a famous double by beating AS Monaco FC in last season's Champions League
final.
