Everson enters Benfica ranks

Portuguese Cup holders SL Benfica have continued their preparations for the
UEFA Champions League by signing Brazilian midfield player Everson from OGC
Nice.

European experience
The 28-year-old had spent two seasons with Nice, having previously played for
VfL Osnabrück in German regional football. He has agreed a four-year
contract.

'Fantastic transfer'
Everson said: "This transfer is fantastic for me. Benfica are one of the top
European clubs and this move is like a prize for all the hard work I have put
in."

Eligible for action
Having not featured in Nice's UEFA Intertoto Cup campaign due to injury,
Everson will be eligible for Benfica's Champions League challenge, which
begins with a third qualifying round tie against RSC Anderlecht this month.
