Bayern lose stricken G?rlitz
Thursday, 4 November 2004
FC Bayern München will be without Andreas G?rlitz for up to six months after
the defender suffered cruciate ligament damage in last night's 1-0 home
defeat by Juventus FC.
Worst fears confirmed
G?rlitz, who came on as a half-time substitute, had to be taken off after 69
minutes. The 22-year-old was attended to immediately by Bayern's medical
staff and their worst fears were confirmed as scans revealed he had torn a
cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Summer signing
G?rlitz, a German international, has played seven Bundesliga matches and two
Champions League ties for Bayern this season after joining from local rivals
TSV 1860 München in the summer.
