Job Description -- US-China Clean Vehicle Communication Coordinator


The Innovation Center for Energy and Transportation (iCET) is seeking a talented individual with strong communication skills to serve as a US-China vehicle research communication coordinator.
This full-time position, implemented in cooperation with the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy of Tsinghua University, will focus on facilitating and coordinating the relationships between US and Chinese researchers and government officials involved in the US-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC).  It could involve the producing English and Chinese language reports, newsletters and updates, managing schedules for visiting partners, conducting basic informational research, organizing meetings and conferences, and coordinating reporting on project progress.

The successful candidate will possess native Mandarin Chinese language skills and a deep understanding of Chinese work environments and work culture, able to navigate the complex social interactions inside a top-level Chinese university.  At the same time, he or she will be comfortable in communicating with US researchers and policy makers. A key aspect of this position will be translating not just language between English and Chinese, but also culture.
Requirements:
Educated in top-level universities in BOTH US and China, with some education in a subject related to communication, management and engineering, with some understanding of clean or electric vehicles.  Master’s degree preferred.
Native Mandarin Chinese skills, written and oral.
Completely fluent in American-style English, written and oral
Understanding of the issues around clean vehicles including electric vehicles and clean fuels (technical understanding is not necessary)
3-4 years of work experience in project or internal communication.
