Director Industrial Design
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting comprehensive targets in the field of design for creative staff, design steering and content generation as well as the definition of overarching strategies for a wide array of design and DW creative service offerings.
Capable of integrating multiple design disciples into a holistic approach to enable maximum design quality, cross-disciplinary collaboration and constant improvement of output quality.
Leads an international design team through his/her extensive knowledge, experience and best judgment to leverage DW's reputation for being a leading global creative consultancy for its cutting-edge creative concepts, innovative ideas and world class design results.
Member of the studio management team who participates in key decisions for the studio.
Provides immediate direction to the Creative Directors who are experts in the respective fields.
Develops rational, criteria and reasoning for design to fit strategic targets.
The direction for creative/design deliverable should meet the design market’s principles.
Up to date with the latest design trends, tools, methods and processes.
Role Requirements:
Strong leadership and transnational skills in international organizations.
Must be able to manage multicultural teams in an international environment.
Ability to foster design excellence, cross-disciplinary collaboration and to promote creativity.
Prior experience and established personal network within the BMW Group is essential for success in this role.
Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills in both English and German preferred.
Must have clear and concise communication skills and the ability to implement standards and best practices.
Must have in-depth understanding within every stage of the design process and apply innovative thinking, inspiration and leadership when directing cross-fertilized design teams or design leaders.
Ability to communicate and interact with executives and officials in a diverse community.
Must be confident with design deliverable of multiple projects integrating internal staff such as those from cross-disciplinary backgrounds and cross- studios as well as external creative partners.
Passion for Design and Creative Thinking.
Familiar with Microsoft office tools
