Job Purpose and Background:
CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Senior Policy Analyst in China office, with passion for combating climate change/ deforestation and promoting sustainable finance, as well as skillset to conduct solid policy research and manage networks with multi-stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
◥Conduct policy research:
◥Closely track the progress in key policy development in climate change, biodiversity, sustainable finance, environmental disclosure, green supply chain, etc.;
◥Complete policy-oriented knowledge products, including policy briefings, newsletters, policy-related blogs, etc., under guidance of senior policy manager, sustainable finance policy manager, and other thematic team (i.e. climate change, forest, and water security) leads;
◥Support engagement with Chinese policy stakeholders and manage policy stakeholder contact list;
◥Support local and/or international policy-oriented events by preparing background documents, presentation materials, and providing logistic assistance.
◥Timely update and manage policy-oriented knowledge products in CDP China office;
◥Actively cooperate with global and regional teams and provide assistance on need basis;
◥Support policy-related project development and management.
Essential Criteria:
◥Master’s degree in areas of environment, climate change, energy, sustainable development, or public policy;
◥At least 2 years’ full-time work experience in relevant fields;
◥Good understanding of China’s environment/climate change and green finance policy landscape;
◥Demonstrated knowledge of policy research methodologies, data analysis (quantitative or qualitative) and interpretation, and effective writing;
◥Outstanding communication and presentation skills in Chinese and in English, orally and in writing;
◥The ability to deliver excellent results under pressure with strong organisational skills and attention to details;
◥Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a constructive team player;
◥Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
◥Eligible to work in China.
Desirable criteria:
◥Experiences in environment/climate change/sustainable finance policy research in local or international think tanks;
◥Creative and willing to cope with new challenges;
◥Strategic and organized thinker;
◥Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Terms and Benefits:
The role will be a full-time position based in Beijing office and we offer a 3-year full-time contract with the potential to extend based on working performance and funding situation.
We offer benefit package, and 20 days’ vacation per year (increasing to 25) in addition to national holidays.
