84074 Senior Software Quality Engineer

The Red Hat OpenShift team is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer who is intrigued by how things work and constantly looks for ways to break things and rebuild them to make them better to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will not just be a tester, you will also be a developer who designs, automates, and finds creative ways to identify potential problems. You will work on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform built on container technology and the Kubernetes cluster management system. You'll be responsible for all aspects of quality for Red Hat OpenShift, including designing test plans, extending automation frameworks, and developing new automated tests for both back and front ends. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria. As a Senior Software Quality Engineer, you will gain deep technical understanding of a variety of popular technologies, including containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test cases, and test reports
Execute functional, integration, regression, performance, and scalability tests using open source tools for Red Hat OpenShift
Design, develop, and maintain test automation using Ruby or Golang, analyze test results, and guarantee test efficiency; implement automation tools as needed
Work in a fast-paced environment and be goal-oriented; proactively communicate with multiple stakeholders across teams to implement new ideas and improvements
Oversee potential problems and devise mechanisms to solve them in a timely fashion
Serve as an expert in the area of your project
Actively suggest and implement continuous improvement in the workflow
Work as part of a global team; embrace diversity and culture differences

Required Skills

5+ years of professional experience working as a software quality engineer
Proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Golang or Ruby; very experienced in designing and writing test automation
Rich experience in system maintaining and resolving issues under Linux
Persistent in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Familiarity with agile testing methodologies and techniques
Direct experience with Kubernetes and container technologies; experience with Kata Containers is a big plus
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies with minimal guidance; willingness to learn and work with new programming languages
Proven written and verbal language skills in English

The following are considered a plus

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), or Microsoft Azure
Direct experience with Red Hat OpenShift
Record of contributions to open source projects or publicly available code samples
