Design of high-end pointing devices in harsh environments.
o  You develop and design high-precision mechanisms (i.e. moving parts as the coarse pointing unit) for flight hardware and support equipment.
o  You have a good intuition for structural/thermal aspects, where you can do a first iteration in your design and iterate with the specialist engineers.
o  You create and maintain the assembly models and configurations.
o  Prototyping and verification of the mechanisms is part of your work, including shaker and motion platforms.
o  You prepare the technical documentation including manufacturing documents.
o  You prepare detailed drawings and define interfaces and envelopes.
o  You perform analysis necessary for dimensioning of the parts  
o  Defining and documenting the necessary verification tests for the mechanisms is part of your work.
o  You excel in the documentation of your results and convincingly present them to the project team and in reviews.

Profile
o  MS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar.
o  Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
o  Expert for mechanism components such as bearings and compliant mechanisms, and the challenges related to aerospace loads. You have a good feeling for possible suppliers.
o  Solid understanding of design calculations.
o  Strong knowledge of 3D CAD-Software and PDM-Systems, ideally with Inventor / Vault by Autodesk.
