We are seeking highly self-motivated candidates for a Research Technologist position(full-time or part-time) in the laboratory of Dr. Yiliang Chen at the Versiti Blood Research Institute (BRI). Located on the campus of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, Dr. Chen’s lab uses a variety of novel technologies to study immunometabolism in cardiovascular disease. Major duties and responsibilities include:

1. Determining and performing research experiments

2. Recording, analyzing, and reporting results

3. Discussing and answering questions regarding experimental results

4. Reading scientific papers to stay current on advances in related research

The Research Technologist will be involved in multiple exciting research projects on integration of immunology and metabolism, which are underlying causes for common cardiovascular diseases. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in biology, chemistry, scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and experiences.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· Knowledge of theoretical basis of work being performed.

· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

· Proficient in research laboratory techniques.

· Strong detail orientation and analytical ability.

· Ability to accurately carry out experiments and tasks by following established guidelines.

· Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks.

· Effective organizational and communication skills.

· Familiarity with computers and software applications desired.

EXPERIENCE

One to three years of relevant laboratory experience required beyond receipt of bachelor’s degree.
