Job Overview:
Product Engineering is responsible for building Coupang customer facing products, we are in charge of 10+ mission critical applications which handles millions customer transactions every day, from customer open Coupang home page, until customer finishes her extraordinary shopping experience with an order, we are taking care every single part of this journey. Product Engineering
o Owns Coupang’s eCommerce facing features
o Drives Coupang new initiatives and mission critical programs
o Leads Coupang front systems with exciting tech stacks.
- Cloud Native (AWS), MSA, JPA, Elastic stack, Docker, Kafka, Spring boot, Graphite, Cassandra, native mobile development.
o Obsesses over site reliability to guarantee an effortless shopping experience
o Is truly global, with teams located at Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and Bay area
Our vision is to build a trusted eCommerce platform by obsessing over reliable and effortless shopping experience, through a highly productive engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
o Build scalable systems that will have a direct impact on customer acquisition, experience, conversion and retention
o Take full ownership of the product end to end using DevOps practices
o Establish and execute short and long-term architectural roadmaps for the business
o Drive continuous improvement to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform and services while keeping high bar for customer trust, performance and availability
Qualifications:
o 7+ years of professional software development experience
o Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm, problem solving and complexity analysis
o Experience with distributed computing and scalable enterprise systems
o Comfortable working in an agile fast paced startup-like environment
o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred :
o Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
o Experience with large datasets and/or ML algorithms
o Experience communicating with users, other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy
o Experience mentoring junior software engineers
o Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team
o Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
o Experience working backwards from the customer and delivering innovative, simple solutions
