今天在系里听讲座听到的
第一个发现的自由基是很稳定的三苯基甲基自由基，是一个叫Mores Gomberg的家伙在1900
年发现的。当时他意识到自由基的重要性，但在当时没有足够的实验技术去研究
所以他在当年的JACS最后写道
"This work will be continued, and I wish to reserve the field for myself"
到了1964年，实验技术已经大大发展，可以用光谱技术直接观察到自由基，
这个时候Porter和Ward两人在一篇文章说，"after the respectable period of
more than half of a century, we may perhaps be permitted to look further
into the problem"
