Inter push for Hernanes
By Football Italia staff
Rumours are growing that Inter are closer to signing Lazio midfielder Hernanes for 12m plus Ibrahima Mbaye.
According to Sport Mediaset and Sky Sport Italia, Inter President Erick Thohir and director Marco Fassone are in talks with Lazio patron Claudio Lotito.
The offer is currently 10m-12m plus ownership of full-back Mbaye, who is currently playing on loan at Livorno.
The Senegalese talent is valued at 6m, so that would bring the total price above the previous 17m proposal.
Lotito had publicly scoffed at the 17m reports, insisting “they could buy his left foot for that.”
It is widely reported that the deal rests entirely on Lotito’s decision and the President is notoriously unpredictable in transfer matters.
“I know Lazio really like Mbaye, particularly (assistant manager) Bollini, but I am currently not aware of any negotiations,” agent Giuseppe Accardi told lalaziosiamonoi.
“Many clubs like Mbaye, including Roma, Juventus and Genoa.”
Meanwhile, Coach Edy Reja today denied the reports in his Press conference. "I can guarantee you he isn't leaving."
