Kondogbia instead of Toure?
By Football Italia staff
Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has reportedly emerged as an alternative to Yaya Toure after the Ivorian’s move was cast into doubt.
The Manchester City midfielder had appeared close to a reunion with Coach Roberto Mancini before his agent said he would stay at the Etihad Stadium.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Toure has changed his opinion about a move after meeting with City chairman Khaldoon Al Moubarak, even as Mancio is seen as still keen to bring him in.
However, Kondogbia has now emerged as a possible alternative and Tuttosport believe that the central midfielder is valued at around 25-30m.
Should the ongoing negotiations for Toure fall through, the 22-year-old Monaco man could be approached.
However, Inter may face stiff competition from Premier League sides Manchester United and Liverpool, who are both also believed to be interested.
Tuttosport also pointed to other names being linked with the Nerazzurri, including Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva, Allan of Udinese and Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Motta.
