Salah plan B for Inter?
By Football Italia staff
Inter could reportedly move for Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah if their Juan Cuadrado approach is rejected, while Paris Saint-Germain set their price for Thiago Motta.
Egyptian winger Salah impressed in his six-month loan spell at Fiorentina but is believed to not be interested in remaining in Florence for another season.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Salah has the right to veto a stay at the Artemio Franchi and that the departure of Coach Vincenzo Montella has made him decide against staying.
The paper believes that the Nerazzurri have set Colombia international Cuadrado as their number one target, but should their interest be rebuffed then a move for Salah is likely.
The report says that a similar deal to the one struck for Xherdan Shaqiri would be proposed, with an initial loan move followed by an obligatory purchase, with payment deferred over three years.
Gazzetta believes that the fee of such a move could be in the region of 15-16m, but it is yet to be seen whether Salah would be interested in a move.
The newspaper has also reported that further Inter target Thiago Motta has been slapped with a 10m price tag by Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italy international has one year left on his deal in Paris and is believed to be in a position where he will either sign a satisfactory new contract or move to the Nerazzurri.
However, the asking price is believed to be excessive for the 32-year-old midfielder and could complicate negotiations.
