Inter close to Montoya

Inter are close to completing a transfer for Barcelona’s Martin Montoya, according to reports in Spain.

The full-back has been heavily linked with the Nerazzurri in recent weeks, with his position at Bar?a threatened by the arrival of Aleix Vidal.

Catalan newspaper Sport believes a deal is very close for Montoya to move on loan to the Beneamata for the next two seasons, with a purchase clause of 8m.

The paper believes Inter will pay 1.5m for the initial loan, with a deal already agreed with the player.

It’s thought a deal will not be confirmed until July 18, with the Blaugrana in the midst of Presidential elections, though the player and Coach Luis Enrique have given their consent to the deal.

Sport believes that Liverpool were also tracking the defender, but he has chosen to move to Serie A.
