Mancio: ‘At Inter next season unless…’

Roberto Mancini confirms he’ll still be at Inter next season “if they don’t send me away”.
After a good start to the season, the Nerazzurri have fallen to fifth in the table, but the former Manchester City manager expects to be at San Siro next term.
“If they don’t send me away I’ll still be the Coach,” Mancini told Calciomercato.
“Things change quickly in football. At the start of the season [Juventus’ Max] Allegri had to be fired, now he’s to be given a 20-year contract.
“At first I was to stay at Inter for 56 years, now I should be sacked. That’s football, it changes overnight.”
Mancio was then asked about the future of the club, as well as some notable transfer targets.
“My job isn’t to audit the accounts, but I think it’s only a matter of time before Inter return to the top. The President [Erick Thohir] has invested in Inter and will do again, I’m very confident.
“I don’t know if [Ever] Banega will come in, I have no idea, you’d have to ask [sporting director] Piero [Ausilio]. He’s a technical player, he’s a starter for the Argentinian national team and that’s no accident.
“We’ll see what happens in June.
“Caner Erkin? I know him because of my work in Turkey. I know him well, he’s a good player, but I don’t know anything about it, like with Banega you’d have to ask Piero.”
