Mancio: ‘Next two games everything’

‘Everything will depend on the next two games’ for Inter says Roberto Mancini, who says ‘there isn’t always an explanation’ for poor form.
The Nerazzurri have overcome a slump to make a late charge for third place, following their 2-0 win over Napoli on Saturday and Roma’s faltering form.
They face Genoa in Serie A tomorrow evening and Mancini believes that it will be a key fixture for his side.
“Everything will depend on the next two games,” he said at today’s Press conference.
“If we get important points, then the game with Napoli will be crucial. But we must prove ourselves.
“Everyone has highs and lows, with the exception of Juve. It’s normal over a season.
“We’ve committed some errors like many teams, but the players have always done their best. Mistakes are there to be made, above all for a team in development like ours.
“Unfortunately sometimes there can be these highs and lows, perhaps without knowing the reason. We’ve lost points like this, without too many explanations, but that’s football.
“I expect a proactive attitude, as it has always been. Results determine the judgment, but the guys just need to stay calm.
“Our poor run? There isn’t always an explanation. Why have Barcelona lost the last few games? Because football is strange, I don’t think anything like this has ever happened to them.
“Sometimes things just don’t go well. We lost points during a delicate moment even though we didn’t deserve the defeats.
“Juventus are the strongest team, they’ve won the league for years and every year they improve their squad.
“At the start they lost points, but maybe that was also an advantage. If you lose at the start it’s easier to recover, although Juve are on top by merit. Now it’s up to the others to try and strengthen in the right way.
“When you start to work at a new club, at a certain point you realise that the team reaches certain automatisms. Now we’re at that point. I understand the disappointment, but now the team is starting to have their own spirit.
“Players obviously want to always play, but they must earn it. At the start I changed a lot to give everyone a chance, but there comes a moment when a team needs to have a proper, definitive base."
