Allardyce: ‘Disappointed by Santon’
By Football Italia staff
Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce says it was a “huge disappointment” not to sign Davide Santon from Inter.
The full-back appeared to be all-set to move to the Black Cats, but the deal collapsed at the last minute after a disagreement between player and club.
“It was a huge disappointment for me that I was not able to clinch the Davide Santon deal, just a couple of days ago,” Allardyce told the Sunderland Echo.
“We want to improve the squad with two, three or four players as quickly as we possibly can.
"It's been a huge demand trying to find those players, but we'll continue that until we're successful.
"Hopefully fans will be a little bit patient.”
The Nerazzurri don’t want to keep Santon, so he could instead make the move to Crystal Palace.
