Icardi wage dispute with Napoli?
By Football Italia staff
Napoli are reportedly offering 6m per season to Inter’s Mauro Icardi, but his entourage want 7m.
The Partenopei have identified the Argentine as the ideal replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who will join Juventus in the coming days.
A meeting took place between the player’s entourage and representatives from Napoli yesterday, but Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the parties are still some away apart.
It’s thought the offer to Icardi is 6m per season, which would include giving up 50 per cent of his image rights, with a release clause of 100m to be inserted.
However, the entourage of the Nerazzurri striker are reported to be demanding 7m, plus a large raise in the image rights fee.
This presents a problem, as Higuain earns 5.5m per season including image rights, so President Aurelio De Laurentiis is unlikely to offer significantly more to his replacement.
