Joao Mario and Gabigol off Inter list
By Football Italia staff
As expected, Inter have left big new buys Joao Mario and Gabigol off the UEFA list for the Europa League to avoid FFP penalties.
The Nerazzurri were already under certain limitations due to the Financial Fair Play rulings.
When new owners Suning Group spent big over the summer, including over 70m in one day for Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa, it naturally raised question marks.
It’s now confirmed those two stars have been left off the Europa League list, so won’t be party to the FFP rules.
Antonio Candreva, Ever Banega and Cristian Ansaldi are included, but there’s no place for outcast Stevan Jovetic or another expensive signing, Geoffrey Kondogbia.
Inter are in Europa League Group K with Sparta Prague, Southampton and Hapoel Beer-Sheva.
