Moratti: ‘Pioli gives Inter advantage’

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti believes Stefano Pioli gives them an advantage over Milan - “a Coaching change usually brings good luck”.

The new Nerazzurri Coach will make his debut in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina, having officially been confirmed as Frank de Boer’s replacement.

“[Milan Coach Vincenzo] Montella has proven he can do well,” Moratti acknowledged, speaking to reporters outside the Saras offices.

“Pioli should be advantaged though, because a Coaching change usually brings good luck. It’s not an easy task for him, it’s a difficult game right away.

“He’s a smart person though, who gets his teams going well. It’s always a fascinating game, and it’s definitely special.

“The derby is always beautiful and rich with emotions, and that’s how it’ll be on Sunday.”
