Bauza: ‘Icardi? Depends on Higuain…’

Argentina Coach Edgardo Bauza is “following” Inter striker Mauro Icardi but “it will depend on the level of Gonzalo Higuain”.

The Nerazzurri captain has been scoring freely in Serie A for several seasons, but so far has just one cap for his country.

Icardi has been repeatedly left out of the squad by Bauza, and while the door is not closed, it appears the Beneamata forward is some way down the pecking order.

“I’m following him, he already knows that,” Bauza told Fox Sports.

“He could be called-up at any time, but it will depend on the level of Higuain and [Lucas] Pratto.”
