Campdelii: ‘Chinese money not enough’
By Football Italia staff
Chievo President Luca Campedelli risks racism controversy with an unflattering impression of Inter’s Chinese owners - “Fozza Inda!”
The Suning Group acquired the Nerazzurri this summer, taking the majority stake from Erick Thohir he remains President.
“The Chinese have the advantage of having money, but the disadvantage of being distant,” Campedelli told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The new Nerazzurri ownership just says ‘Fozza Inda’ [‘forza Inter’], and in the Lega [Serie A] Thohir intervenes less than I do.
“[Massimo] Moratti was a football fan, the Chinese are managers. I come to training almost every day, it’s important.
“It’s not enough just to pay the salaries.”
The Flying Donkeys were interested in Mario Balotelli this summer, and Campedelli had positive words for the Nice striker.
“Balotelli is not bad, he’s problem is how recognised he is: if he does something stupid everyone knows about it.
“He’s much better than he appears. I don’t know if we were close to signing him, but I hope he remembers our lunch together fondly.”
