Pioli: ‘Direct clashes crucial’
By Football Italia staff
Inter Coach Stefano Pioli believes head-to-head games will be crucial in the race for Champions League football.
The Nerazzurri have put together a sun of six straight wins in Serie A, but remain four points off the top-three as Juventus, Roma and Napoli have also been on good runs.
“When you’re chasing your destiny you know it also depends on others,” Pioli admitted in his Press conference ahead of the Pescara game.
“If we keep winning we’ll definitely close the gap, but we have to remain focused on our games and then go for it in the head-to-head games.
“I know that I coach a strong team with great players, who know how to sacrifice and have made themselves available to work in a certain way. That’s the attitude I’ve found and I always play to win.
“We’re aware of our abilities, we can enter games with determination knowing that if you have a great squad everything can be decisive.
“Being cynical, focused and having the mentality of a great team we’re trying to achieve things and prove what we’ve always had, especially in head-to-head games.”
