Campus leader
The China Britain Youth Association (CBYA) is planning to recruit two volunteer campus leaders (one at Peking University, one at Tsinghua University) to help organise the inaugural China-Britain Youth Dialogue (CBYD) from 3rd-7th October 2011. Please see the attached introduction booklet for information about the Dialogue.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with our media team to promote CBYD on Chinese media, both online (Renren, Xiaonei, QQ, Weibo, BBS) and offline (China Daily, Youth Daily, Xinhua).
- Help with booking venues at Tsinghua or Peking university.
- Help with booking accommodation and transport for Dialogue delegates.
- Dealing with any local registration issues which may arise for CBYD.
- Drawing up a list of academics who may be suitable speakers at CBYD. After discussing with CBYD team who would be most suitable, approaching them to ask if they would be willing to speak.
- Promoting the CBYD Closing Gala on campus in September 2011.
Requirements
- Enthusiasm for the China-Britain Dialogue and what we're trying to achieve.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Clear communication skills.
- Excellent academic record.
- Knowledge of university administration procedures.
- Knowledge of national and local regulations.
- Familiarity with Chinese media, both online and offline.
- Good relationships with and knowledge of university faculty and staff.
- Good knowledge of local amenities (restaurants, hotels, companies etc).
- Good knowledge of and relationship with potential sponsor companies in Beijing.
- Excellent bargaining ability.
- Personal integrity.
- Availability in Beijing from June to October 2011.
- Availability in Beijing during the week of the Dialogue: 1st-7th October 2011.

- Involvement in the planning of an exciting new initiative.
- Depending on performance: Free entry to the Dialogue as a delegate (including meals).
- Campus leader can be selected as the new member of ShARE Association.
