Master of Science in Computer Sciences or Mathematics

CAP Intern 1

This is a position for a graduate student in a Computer Science or Engineering or a related discipline currently enrolled in an MS or Ph.D. program in a leading university. It combines system integration and software engineering work with project management and customer collaboration and influencing. In this role you will be working with leading IT companies and institutions in China to enhance and optimize their solutions on Intel platforms, and to promote Intel platforms as the best hardware systems for software solutions end-to-end. You will provide technical feedback to Intel product groups to enhance upcoming Intel platforms and products. You will also participate in innovation projects, authoring documentations or papers, and making presentations.
You should be enrolled in a Master of Science (MS) program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Additional qualifications include:
- Fundamentals of microprocessor architecture and understanding of the elements of computer systems
- Experiences in installing, configuring and optimizing systems running Windows and Linux OS
- Experiences in software languages, development, and systems
- Independent problem-solving skills and ability to learn technical knowledge quickly
- Experiences on security, storage and cloud computing would be an added advantage
- Solid English written and verbal communication skills would be an added advantage
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently

You should possess a relevant educational qualification. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong background in Linux* system and/or application SW development
- Knowledge of Java, PHP, and mysql
- Excellent programming and debugging skills
- Verbal and written communication skills (both in Mandarin and English)
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently

More specifically, in this position, you will be responsible for developing and coding, debugging applications for Intel's server and desktop products, and hands-on setting-up and low-level function validations of preproduction hardware and software platform ingredients from Intel and ISVs. In addition, you will participate in developing technical specifications, writing white papers and Proof-of-Concept materials, building and delivering solutions using open source software and Linux* on Intel architecture.
