Role Summary/Purpose    * The process engineer role will be an integral and critical part of the SABIC project team working on the establishment of a new world-scale polycarbonate resin manufacturing joint venture in Tianjin with SINOPEC.
* The permanent location of this position will be in Tianjin when the plant is commissioned in 2015. As of now, the preliminary location will be in Shanghai in the R&D center within SABIC/GE facility.

Essential Responsibilities    * Work with global project team and local colleagues (including JV partner) to design and implement optimal and stable manufacturing processes in the new polycarbonate plant in Tianjin, North China
* Optimize and modify process conditions and process technologies to improve process performance during pilot, start-up and during ongoing operations
* Plan and manage projects to develop and advance new process technologies from the laboratory scale, through the pilot scale & commercial implementation, using modeling and statistically-based tools to establish product and process capability
* Identify, prioritize and execute capital improvement projects on time and under budget, champion efforts to increase production by embracing Stable Operations methodology
* Work with manufacturing operations to identify opportunities for productivity, quality and throughput improvements, troubleshoot and optimize processes
* Work with colleagues globally to translate best practices from other manufacturing sites
* Build and improve new processes to maximize production, reduce cost, improve quality and improve process safety and integrity using Six Sigma rigor
