Schlumberger BGC Internship openings for software position

Schlumberger BGC is looking for multiple interns, starting from August/2011. The interns will have chance to be mentored by senior staff, and work on commercial software products in Oil and Gas Industry. Excellent interns will be identified early and have chance to be offered with full-time employee position.

Responsibilities:
1. Learn about Oil and Gas Industry;
2. Work in the project teams, to complete the tasks assigned by mentor/manager;
3. Learn the Schlumberger culture and international working environment;

Eligibility:
- 1st or 2nd year graduate students and PhD candidates, majoring in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred. Excellent 3rd year and above undergraduates are also welcomed.
- At least 4 days/week required, with School or Supervisor’s permission, fulltime preferred;
- The length of the internship is 3-6 months, long-term internship is preferred by some positions.

General Skills required:
1. Good analytical skills;
2. Fast learner;
3. Good oral and written English;
4. Positive attitude and team spirit, willing to take the ownership

Opening Positions:
1. C# Developer

Qualifications:
• Proficient with C# and .NET framework;
• ASP.NET experience is a plus;
• Experience on WinForm and 2D Graphics is a plus;
• Knowledge on Office plug-in is a plus.

2. Java Developer

Qualifications:
• Solid knowledge of Java with a minimum of 2 years experience in desktop application development;
• Good competency in OO design and software development methodology

3. C++ Developer

Qualifications:
• Proficient with C++, with at least 1 year project experience;
• Good competency in OO design and software development methodology.

4. Python Developer

Qualifications:
• Proficient with Python and script language;
• Knowledge with .NET/C# is a plus

5. Database/Data Mining Engineer

Qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience on database technologies(SQL Server);
• Knowledge on Data Mining;
• Knowledge on OLAP;
• Experience with .NET/C# development.

Location:
Schlumberger Beijing Geoscience Center, Tsinghua Science Park, Beijing.
