Summer Associate Description:
The full-time Management Associates Program (MAP) for MBA graduates was created in response to Thomson Reuters desire to identify and develop future leaders. The Summer Associates Program (SAP) was created for MBA students who are between their first and second year of business school.

Offered to select candidates annually, the Thomson Reuters Summer Associates Program (SAP) (part of the Management Associates Program (MAP)) gives you the rare opportunity to gain exposure at the highest levels of management and build expertise in a broad range of compelling businesses.
Each year, a small group of Summer Associates will be selected to join Thomson Reuters Summer Associates Program. Our Summer Associates will receive exposure to and experience with those challenges that are consistent with Thomson Reuters full-time Management Associates. Furthermore, the summer program acts as a feeder to Thomson Reuters full-time rotational program. The summer program is 10 weeks in duration, running from mid-June to mid-August. The assignments are chosen with a view to Thomson Reuters business needs and to the participant's own career goals. Assignments are offered in various disciplines across the business such as finance, product development, technology, strategy, operations, marketing and human resources. Individual progress is carefully tracked, visibility is high and interaction with senior executives takes place as a natural consequence of the projects that a Summer Associate undertakes and as part of a formal program.

Responsibilities expected of Summer Associates:
• Provide analysis and evaluation of organization-wide financial data and methods.
• Offer critical evaluation of strategic concepts and financial assumptions and provide recommendations.
• Influence Business Unit leadership in making sound strategic decisions for the business.
• Communicate high-level information to senior management as well as communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Identify and control business risks and leverage opportunities.
• Think creatively about new, ambiguous problems, and develop structured solutions.
• Learn new concepts quickly and complete multiple and diverse assignments with the highest quality.
• Motivate others and work collaboratively.
• Provide thought leadership.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
• Pursuing an MBA from a leading university (First year must be completed prior to start date)
• Minimum 4-5 years of practical business experience in a large, dynamic, organization
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence
• Outstanding business acumen
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Energetic, articulate, mature, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated with superior analytical, strategic, and financial capabilities
• Outstanding relationship building and networking skills
• Evidence of a successful track record in finance, technology management and/or consulting
• Geographic mobility
