Role description
The job will put you to the forefront of an exciting industry. Your work will have an impact on prestigious companies, which will make your work the more challenging, and will make your successes the more rewarding.
As an interim support engineer, your objective is to convey a positive image of the company and its products. Your ultimate objective is to maintain a high customer satisfaction level.
Responsibilities
o Represent IA Customer Service and provide technical support to all DVB and IPTV broadcast customers and partners.
o Installation and upgrades of the Conditional Access control systems at customer sites on lab test systems and live broadcast systems.
o Analyse and troubleshoot customer problems.
o Take ownership of customers’ incidents, follow-up and report regularly on their status.
o Perform consultancy work such as:
o Assist the customer with planning of system upgrades and configuration changes.
o Provide on site support.
o Provide training to customers.
o Provide valuable input to engineering for improvements to existing products, related documentation and new system development
o Work closely with the relevant Account managers and the CA Support Department to achieve optimum customer satisfaction.
o From time to time provide sales support for Irdeto Access products.
o Provide management reporting on critical customer issues
o Work according to established Irdeto Access quality procedures, processes and guidelines as applicable.
o Provide DVB, networking, IP and related expertise to the Customer Support Team.
Interfaces and Authority
o Sales to assist with the resolution of issues flagged by account management that could prevent further revenue generation.
o Engineering to coordinate the delivery of fixes to enable resolution of customer incidents.
o Professional Service project Managers for new customer implementations.
Knowledge & Skill requirements
o Major in computer science, electronic engineering or the IT sector
o Experience with / knowledge of digital broadcasting, MPEG-2, DVB and IP systems will be an advantage
o Experience with Windows and SQL databases.
o A good understanding of network infrastructure (VLAN, switching and routing) will be an advantage.
