BU Description
ICS (IBM Collaboration Solution, aka Lotus) team is responsible for developing IBM's collaborative technology and solutions which integrate people, data and business processes to create the "human side" of IBM's On Demand and SOA strategies. All Lotus products provide services for desktop and Web 2.0 applications, and integrating these products together makes Lotus' unsurpassable competencies.
The Apache ODF Toolkit is a set of Java modules that allow programmatic creation, scanning and manipulation of Open Document Format (ISO/IEC 26300 == ODF) documents. Unlike other approaches which rely on runtime manipulation of heavy-weight editors via an automation interface, the ODF Toolkit is lightweight and ideal for server use.
Apache "ODF Toolkit" is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for highly motivated developers to join the energetic teams to share our enjoyment of developing ODF Toolkit API, and gain the great experience of working in the famous Apache open community.
In details, We are looking for developers , who will be responsible for:
* Working on ODF Toolkit API Development in agile mode
* Analyzing the Open Document Format and provide support
* Develop the sample applications to demonstrate the ODF Toolkit API to worldwide customer
* Implement unit test and automation test script
* Document and communicate in Apache open community
* Fix product issues and customer issues
Required Skills
Tech skills:
- Familiar with software engineering and software development process and tools
- Familiar with Agile development and tools
- Experienced on Java, XML.
- Familiar with SVN is a plus.
- Familiar with ODF is a plus.
- Familiar with Lotus Symphony or Apache OpenOffice is a plus.
- Experienced on Linux/Unix/Mac OS is a plus.
Soft Skills
- Self-motivated
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Quick learner with strong sense of ownership
- Good communication skills and teamwork
- Fluent in both spoken and written English
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master in Computer Science & Technology or equivalent.
