Background

A proprietary trading company is seeking a smart and talented individual to work on IT systems used in its systematic trading platform. This position will involve maintenance and improvement of existing IT infrastructure including its data acquisition engines and trading engines as well as development of new systems to meet the latest business requirements. The candidate must have a Software Engineering background with a strong passion for software development and must have a good knowledge of at least one of the following: Java, C#, C++. Role Description

?    Maintenance and improvement of market data acquisition systems pertaining to over 60+ global financial instruments including Equity Futures, Commodity Futures, Rates Futures and Foreign Exchange.
?    Development of new applications related to market data acquisition, market data processing and systems trading.
?    Implementation of systems to help in the backtesting of trading strategies and mining of historical market data.
?    Developing of data-mining systems to analyse real-time financial data.
?    Development of reporting systems allowing fair and conclusive comparison across various different backtested trading strategies.
?        Development of automated trade execution systems linked to brokers platforms using proprietary APIs.
?    Responsible for managing the ongoing project lifecycle for implementations.



Requirements

?    A minimum of Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering. The candidate must also have knowledge and experience in data-mining and multi-threading programming.
?    Excellent programming skills with clear demonstrable past experience in C++, C#, .Net Framework, Python, VB or Java.
?    Well versed in SQL and Database System Management software such as MS SQL or Oracle.
?    Solid understanding of Object-Oriented analysis and software design fundamentals.
?    Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle steps.
?    Strong communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
?    Passion for solving investment business problems through the use of technology.
?    Detail-oriented approach to solving problems.
