Based in Beijing, BT China Research Centre (CRC) is an innovation corridor, bringing BT’s innovations to China, at the same time reflecting Chinese innovations and market knowledge back to BT.
Internship Programme 2012 is part of CRC’s efforts in collaborating with top Chinese universities on joint research and discovering outstanding talent. All research projects will challenge interns to apply their capabilities to real business problems in a wide range of different industries. BT provide one-to-one mentoring on each project. The Programme will provide candidates with valuable paid work experience in world leading MNCs. Our interns have talent, enthusiasm and raw ambition, and make a huge contribution to the success of our business – bringing with them new perspectives as they learn the skills to become future leaders.
BT CRC is offering the following post based at BT’s Advanced ICT Lab located within Tsinghua University:
Technical Research & Development (2 posts)
Key responsibilities
• To understand BT project owner’s requirements and ensure they are met.
• To deliver project work on time, as agreed with BT project owner.
• To report regular progress updates to the project manager.
• To provide consultancy on his/her area of expertise.
Requirements
Availability
• Preferred: 3-4 days per week between October and December 2012
• 2-3 days per week is negotiable
Qualifications
• University Grade: 3rd year undergraduate or above
• Preferred Major: Computer Science / Software Engineering or related fields
Technical Skills:
• Essential: Strong programmer in Java, Web Servlets
• Strongly Recommended: AppFuse, Data-handling/Databases, JS, CSS
• Useful: Android Framework, XML, HTTP
Other Skills:
• Confident to speak, listen, read and write in English
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Leadership, teamwork, enthusiastic
• Fast learner, reliable, self-motivated with attention to detail
• Innovative and creative, with a design mind
