Job Description: Research Analyst
Role Description
The role we are looking to fill is for a researcher focused on local and global capital markets technology, especially on buy-side trading systems, processes and financial data vendors.
The researcher’s main role is to help produce high-quality research under the guidance of research manager or the Research Director. The researches mainly include industry trend monitoring, vendor mapping and rating, market survey, competitiveness analyses, etc.

Major Responsibilities:
? Performing the data collection
? Analysis and interpretation process
? Providing inputs on a research brief/proposal according to variety of methods to be used, availability and quantity of resources
? Conducting primary and secondary research independently, utilizing publicly-accessible databases, internal research entities, and/or external market research agencies
? Contributing to rigorous analyses (i.e., competitive, market and business analyses), and articulating strategic insights
? Establishing clear linkages between the key empirical findings and specific hypotheses
? Developing compelling storyline based on insights
? Drawing strategic insights and articulating what implications these insights will have in the future
? Supporting the research lead in planning and executing marketing communications that meet sponsor/client objectives and motivate the target audience to adopt a new perspective or take action

? Able to describe current business trends and their impact on Datayes and our clients
? Able to describe general needs of businesses in different stages of maturity
? Familiar with public and by-subscription databases, understands where to look for relevant data and how to use it

? Able to identify likely impacts of regional and global trends on various industries
Storyline Creation
? Familiar with the use of issue trees and issue-based problem solving
? Able to apply the Pyramid Principle, and create a good summary
? Able to represent data in easy to read graphs, charts and text
? Able to use PowerPoint etc well to create an attractive deck
Qualifications:
Experience/Background:
? Effective presentation style (written and verbal)
? English (proficient)
? Proficient in Microsoft Office / graphical display development
Buy-side Investment Research expertise:
? In-depth knowledge the capital markets industry, both local and global
? Good understanding of financial services accounting preferred
Personal credibility
? Self starter, eager to initiate and drive forward ideas and initiatives as well as complete them
? Confident in handling difficult situations, able to keep calm and inspire people when the going is hard
