Background
A foreign proprietary trading company is seeking a smart and talented individual to work on its cutting-edge automated trading platform. This position will involve developing high performance software used for data acquisition and trading as well maintaining and enhancing existing trading tools. The candidate must have a Software Engineering background with a strong passion for software development and must have a good knowledge of Java or .NET. No prior financial knowledge is required. Role Description
Work closely with the company’s traders to implement High Frequency Trading strategies.
Develop automated trading systems using various brokers Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) based in the US and UK.
Build distributed systems to help scale and speed up data mining and analysis used for backtesting strategies.
Build historical and real-time data acquisition systems that fetch data for over 60 futures contracts traded on global markets.
Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the market database including resolving any data issues with market data providers.
Participate in all aspects of a project’s life cycle from design, implementation, testing and documentation.
Develop reporting systems allowing fair and conclusive comparison across various different trading strategies.
Assist traders in identifying new trading algorithms and refining existing ones.
 Possibility of a full time position for outstanding interns.
Requirements
A minimum of Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering.
Excellent programming skills with clear demonstrable past experience in Java or .net
Well versed in SQL and Database System Management software such as MS SQL, Oracle, or HBase.
Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle steps and Design Patters.
Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Passion for solving problems through the use of technology.
Detail-oriented approach to solving problems.
