System Integration Test Engineer-Intern

Job Description:
The tester will have to execute a suite of test cases for a given project.
For all the projects to be tested, a test environment will be setup.
This includes computers, HW, SW, document templates, test case definitions, test suite for each project, access to a shared location for file exchange.
For each test session, the tester will receive the following information:
- project name
- project variant
- HW variant
- SW version
- test environment definition (Test tool version, project specific drivers
- deadline for results reporting
The tester will have to follow these steps:
- prepare the test environment in concordance to the project to be tested
- pick the correct board based on project name, variant and HW variant
- download the binaries of the specified SW version into the board's memory
- execute all the test cases listed in the test suite associated to the names project
- If possible within the skills set, distinguish setup-related issues from test-related ones
- fill out the test results template and copy it to the exchange share
- In case of test failures, the project manager might request additional information such as log file, core-dump file from the tester.
- In case of issues with the environment, the tester should immediately contact the project manager for further investigation


Qualifications
Required skills
- good Windows user knowledge (install applications, drivers, configure HW)
- basic knowledge about HW interfaces (be able to keep UART apart from USB, understand the flow control concept)
- to know any programming or scripting language (for the sake of the concepts)
- able to use word and excel
- thoroughness in a repetitive task
- able to work independently and quickly cope with potential issues
- good spoken and written English
