Software Development Engineer - Interns
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for full-time college students who are able to continuously w
ork in Amazon AT LEAST 3 months AND at least 4 days per week. Longer term par
ticipants welcome!
Basic / Required Qualification
Senior in college, or currently enrolled in a postgraduate or PhD program an
d will graduate in 2015
Self-driven, quick starters, passionate problem solvers with curious mind wh
o love solving very complex, very challenging real world problems
Strong coding skills (e.g Java, C/C++ and/or other languages such as Perl, R
uby, Python)
Solid fundamentals in Data Structure & Algorithm
Good understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis & Design
Excited with opportunities to solve very complex problems and willingness to
learn
Ability to think abstractly & deal with ambiguous problems
Willing to own all stages of development process: requirements, design, impl
ementation, testing, and operational support
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Excellent interpersonal communication with strong reading / written English
skills
Preferred Qualification
Major in Computer Science, engineering (Computer, Aerospace, Electric, Autom
ation… etc), and / or other technical and science degree (Math, Physics,… e
tc)
Experience with UNIX/Linux environment
Have technical internship experience
Pluses / Additional Goodies
Strong verbal English skills
Experience with relational database
Experience with distributed systems
Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimi
zation)
Experience in developing mobile application based Android Mobile Phone
Currently pursuing advanced graduate degrees
