Job Description
An internship with Lazard’s Financial Advisory group in Beijing is designed to provide an insight into the day-to-day role of Investment Banking professionals. Lazard looks for internship candidates who demonstrate excellent analytical skills, strong motivation and a genuine interest in Investment Banking. Investment Banking Interns support Lazard’s Greater China team professionals on both marketing and deal execution assignments. The primary role is to support transaction teams by performing research and financial analysis, as well as multiple ad-hoc requests for marketing and transaction-related purposes. Lazard’s unique structure provides Investment Banking Interns with exposure to all elements of the deal process encouraging a sense of implication and responsibility from day one.
Internship cycles last for a minimum of 3 months and may be extended. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the internship.
Qualifications
Internship candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Prior work experience in Investment Banking particularly Mergers and Acquisitions preferred, but not required
- Self-motivated and able to work in a highly dynamic environment
- In the 3rd / 4th year of college or pursuing a graduate degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent oral and written Mandarin Chinese and English (a technical test and a translation test might be conducted during the interview process). Working level knowledge of French, Spanish, Arabic and/or other Asian languages would be a plus
- Experience and exposure to an international working or academic environment is valued
- Background in accounting, finance, or economics preferred but not required
- Excellent academic track record
