VMware is seeking talented Computer Science or Computer Engineering interns to join our Ecosystem Engineering Core R&D team. As one of our R&D Engineers, you will be responsible for design, development, and benchmark storage features of our enterprise product set (ESX, ESXi).
Responsibilities:
o Design and implement part of the next generation VMware vSphere storage driver subsystem
o Measure and tune vSphere storage subsystem performance
o Expand storage device support in VMware cloud environment
o As a hands-on developer, be capable of fully understanding the storage stack and implementing the changes required to improve storage system performance and usability
Requirements:
o Majoring in Computer Science or related is required
o Working knowledge of modern UNIX/Linux and hands-on experience in kernel, C, Assembly development, debugging and problem analysis
o Knowledge of file system or storage subsystem
o Knowledge of SCSI is a plus
o Experience in device driver programming is a plus
o Hard-working, and has a can-do attitude
o Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
