POSITION OVERVIEW:                  
                                      
MSCI, a global financial software company, is immediately seeking an Technical Engineer Intern to join our Risk Analytical QA  team in the Analytical QA group.                  
                                
RESPONSIBILITIES:                
                                
oDevelop and maintain tools that streamline and automate the current processes (restart servers, deployment, reporting).                
oAnalyze usage/performance trends of our system looking for improvement opportunities.                
oDeveloping, performing, and analyzing performance load tests for the existing and new products and services.                
oProvide support to other members of the team performing technical tasks                
                                
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:                
                                
oBachelor or Masters degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or other similar concentration                
oExperience in systems administration or other similar technical field.                
oWindows/Unix Scripting    (required)                
oFamiliar with analyzing log files and experience with Splunk (a strong plus)                
oDatabase experience – Postgresql/Oracle skills (a plus)                
oExcellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills, fast learner                
oDetail oriented and logical thought process                
oAbility to self-manage your own projects                
oExcellent technical communication skills                
oApache/Tomcat experience ( a plus )                
oInterest in finance (a plus)
