The Role
We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for the development in various technologies to meet the business needs of the CDB team. The candidate is expected to have average level development skills in SQL, Java, Oracle APEX on Linux platform.
The successful candidate will work on the construction of CDB team’s next generation database of record and the maintenance on a variety of existing exciting applications.
This role will gain a lot of exposure to Financial Markets data, specifically around the Commodity, Energy, Shipping, Carbon using the database related technologies.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
o Assist in development work using Oracle, Java, APEX and any other programming languages when necessary.
o Assist in all the necessary phases of project implementation - including functional requirements gathering, functional and technical design specifications, development/ configuration activities, execution of appropriate unit test scenarios to ensure solution integrity, assistance in issue resolution during user acceptance testing, maintenance activities, enhancements to existing applications, system upgrades, and implementations
o Document all development and project related work per company's methodology
o Collaborate with other technical staff to research, evaluate, develop, test and implement new and/or currently unused functional and technical solutions to enhance the value of Thomson Reuters business systems
o Collaborate and communicate across a wide variety of audiences within the technical organization and business end-user community
o Work with analyst team in European office, data acquisition
Qualification - Education:
An undergraduate or postgraduate student with a major in computer science or related subjects.
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
o More than 1 year relational database development experience where Oracle is preferable.
o More than 1 year programming experience with Java, C# etc.
o Proactive attitude and the ability to work well with other developers and business representatives.
o Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills in English.

RVA Intern
Location: Beijing, China
Department: RTVA
Type: Intern (>=6 months)
Min. Experience: N/A
The Role
The Developer Intern is responsible for software requirement analysis, function design, development, UT and relevant testing, also including troubleshooting, bug fixing, system maintanence, and product support.
Key Responsibilities:
o Responsible for software reqirement analysis, function design, development, UT and relevant testing
o Work closely with the internal team and outside team to figure out issues and fix defects.
o Assist system maintanence and product support.
o Responsible for the relevant document delivery.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
A undergraduate or postgraduate student with a major in computer science or related subjects.
Availability requirement:
Can work as an intern for >=6 months with >=4 days for each week.
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
o Must be excellent on C++ programming.
o Must be good at data structure, OO concept and design
o Familiar with Database (Oracle or SQL server) and SQL language
o Experience of scripts language e.g. Perl, Pathon or Ruby
o Proactive attitude and the ability to work well with other developers and business representatives.
o Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills in English
Desired Skills:
o Development experience on C# or JAVA
o Experience with working in an agile team is a big plus.
o Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and individually
o Demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments with high-quality results
