POSITION OVERVIEW:
MSCI is seeking an outstanding quality assurance engineer Intern to join our product development team in Beijing. As a key member of this team, the candidate will work closely with the development teams based in Oklahoma, Ann Arbor, and New York City to ensure that MSCI risk applications continue to provide clients exceptional quality and sophistication. The candidate is expected to be detail oriented and capable of performing multi-task assignments in a timely and independent fashion.
The candidate will work on innovative applications utilizing the latest technologies, and will be responsible for ensuring that product specifications and functionality fulfill client needs. The individual is expected to create tests, setup regression automation, and execute functional tests for risk applications. The candidate should be highly motivated, have strong communications skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
The candidate will have opportunity to work on innovative financial applications utilizing the latest technologies and will be responsible for understanding client needs and for ensuring that product specifications and functionality fulfill client needs. The members of our functional QA team have the opportunity to contribute in a broad set of roles including: studying functional, non-functional specifications, developing test plans and test cases, verifying web service components, implementing and using automated test tools, and estimating level of effort of project requirements.
The candidate will be exposed on a daily basis to a range of topics in the following areas:
o Develop, monitor, and intervene on automated test framework for workflow, web services, and user interfaces.
o Document results for benchmarking purposes and track performance.
o Investigate client issues and work with the team to provide resolution.
o Ability to independently investigate open issues regarding the product functions in a Web Application and document any errors.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
o Written and oral proficiency in English.
o Comfortable working in a team and bringing people together across teams.
o Adapts quickly to working within a rapidly evolving state-of-the-art software architecture and strong multitasking abilities.
o Currently pursuing Master or Bachelor degree of Computer Science or Engineering in reputable Universities.
o Strong Programming experience with C++, Java, Perl or Ruby, XML.
o High degree of motivation, with strong communications skills and ability to learn quickly.
o Understanding of REST and SOAP-based web services.
o Can take fulltime internship for at least six months.
