As one of most important area for us to innovate for our customers, Amazon Logistic is our in-house last mile delivery force where we experiment and implement all kinds of innovative ideas to improve customer delivery experiences and achieve our promise to our customers.
As of now, Amazon Logistic(AMZL) China operates in 20+ major cities which count for a large portion of Amazon shipments in China. Our goal for Amazon logistic is to build up the best-in-class carrier in China both from quality and from cost prospective. Moreover, as the most advanced region for Amazon to invest in this strategic area worldwide, Amazon Logistic China is building up a last mile solution not only for Chinese customers, but also will be adopted globally later on.
The transportation PM intern will be responsible for AMZL topology planning, capacity planning and network optimization. He/she is also responsible for contributing new ideas and developing the new operation model on last mile delivery area to both improve on customer delivery experience and cost reduction. He/she will closely work with Delivery Managers, Station Leads and WW tech teams to redesign Amazon logistic network, including delivery station topology, delivery coverage and delivery routing. This is a good opportunity to apply optimization/simulation and modeling skills in real world. This will be also a wonderful exposure to Amazon's world class operation practice.
Responsibilities:
- Design AMZL topology planning process, and work with operation team to implement the process
- Develops new network/operation model in last mile delivery area to both improve on customer delivery experience and cost reduction
- Point of Contact with global technical team to roll out new system feature or enhance current system to make sure the right platform/algorithm.
Identifies opportunities and Drives initiatives/programs to reduce cost and improve efficiency through applying optimization/simulation

2.    Basic Qualifications
- A completed Bachelor’s Degree in management science, industrial engineering, mathematics or related areas in quantitative discipline., MBA candidate in top tier B-school
- 3-5 years management experience in transportation, express delivery or manufacturing industry.
- Familiar with operation research modeling, heuristic algorithm.
- Effective problem-solving skills; Creative.
- Experience with process improvement and Lean techniques
- Proficient in oral and written English communication

3.    Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
- Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel is a plus
- Experience with simulation tools is a plus.
